A message from the Principal
My name is Kelly Pickel, and I have the pleasure of being the Principal at Darien Elementary School. I am excited to start a new school year and want to welcome all students and families to an exciting year of learning and growing.
My husband John and I live and work in Delavan. Our children both attended all grade levels within the Delavan-Darien School District and graduated from Delavan-Darien High School. Our family is very involved in the community supporting athletics, theater, church activities and 4-H. In our free time our family enjoys spending time camping, kayaking, and supporting the Wisconsin Badgers. In fact, when you stop in to visit, you will see what a fanatic Badger fan I am!
Educational decisions at Darien are guided by what is considered to be best for every student. Working as a partnership with families, Darien’s staff commits themselves to developing the social, emotional, academic, and physical well-being of all our students. Research shows that students whose families are involved in their learning, display more positive attitudes toward school, behave better, and are more likely to perform at a higher level. We look forward to working with families to be active participants in their child’s education.
