Congratulations to the Delavan-Darien students in grades 3-4 who will be moving onto the regional level of the Southern Lakes Anthology competition. This year’s theme is “One in a Million”. Southern Lakes Anthology is an annual writing and art competition that is organized by the Southern Lakes Advanced Learners Network of over 40 different participating school districts. Students submitted work in categories of prose, poetry, illustrated writing, expository writing, art, and cartoons. Each district can only submit a total of 24 pieces.
This year’s district winners are:
3rd grade: Lacey Waychoff, cartoon; Natasha Ramirez, art; Adrian Angeles, art.
4th grade: Jairo Ochoa, prose; Jase Meinen, prose; Kinsleigh Hooverson, prose; Lane Whalen, prose; Natalie Turner, poetry; Alyana Gebauer, poetry; Sofia Casillas and Jayden Devore, illustrated writing, Hazel Schoofs Weisensel.
